It's back! After closing its doors in December 2007 the Council has handed over the running of the venue to Aberdeen Performing Arts. APA's chief executive, Duncan Hendry, said, 'We are pleased that the city council wish to pursue Aberdeen Performing Arts’ proposal and are delighted that we are the council’s preferred option. We aim to restore the Lemon Tree as a centre for cutting edge drama, theatre, comedy and music, with the focus on drama and dance upstairs and on a wide range of music and comedy downstairs. The venue will continue to be an important community arts resource for the city.'
